The JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl is a nationally ranked competition that allows JROTC cadets to compete in the areas of academic and leadership. Cadets may tryout for JLAB in second semester of the school year. From tryouts, two teams of six (four members, 2 alternates) will be selected. Cadets will indulge in weekly practice until the continuous exams. Cadets must pass two rounds for the third round: an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. and the third round of competition. In 2022, South Gwinnett sent both an academic and leadership team to compete in the national competition of JLAB.
